The New Amenities of Modern Hotels

In days gone by, when you paid for a room at an inn, youd get a bed, maybe a bathroom, and anything in addition to that was considered luxury, which is different from the modern hotels of today. Places to lay your head when youre away from home have come a long way from the beginnings of their long histories, and the amenities the guests can enjoy range from little things like extra fluffy towels to bigger perks like free wireless Internet access.

Modern hotels incorporate the newest in technologies and devices in everything from entertainment to the keys now being electronic. There are many places that offer guests the opportunity to have a gaming console in the room, along with a giant flat panel television set. Mini refrigerators stocked with anything you can think of are often available as amenities in the finest places. Fortunately for a lot of travelers, Internet access is becoming more and more popular for hotels to have available for users.

Modern hotels concentrate on making it easier for people to stay in touch with others while they are away from home. Everything from the wireless Internet to complimentary use of telephones is available at many different places. Some of the most popular and favorite amenities that have been reported by travelers include 24 hour room service, reliable child care onsite, swimming pools, in room coffee makers, microwaves, giant TVs with satellite service, Nintendo Wiis in the room, and others.

Other countries have different types of amenities, and Japan has modern hotels that are great examples of this. In Japan, guests have the luxury of having amenities like nail dryers, espresso machines, and Internet radios that are tuned to stations from the guests home country. There are also iPod docks for guests to use in their rooms as well. The point of these amenities is to make everything as convenient and relaxing as possible for guests. One of the most interesting new amenities is the option that more and more modern hotels are offering of self check in. Perks that go along with this type of option include avoiding late check in fees, not having to wait in line at the front desk to check in, and not having to deal with the process when all you really want to do is go to your room. Also, RFID keys are used on the doors as opposed to real keys, and modern hotels seem to find new ways of impressing their guests all the time.
